About this item

Highlights

  • Cooperative game of investigation
  • Immersive gaming experience
  • Includes 5 different scenarios
  • Additional scenarios can be downloaded inside the app

Description

Chronicles of Crime is a cooperative game of crime investigation, mixing an app, a board game and a touch of Virtual Reality.

With the same physical components (board, locations, characters and items), players will be able to play plenty of different scenarios and solve as many different crime stories.

Players start the app, choose the scenario they want to play, and follow the story. The goal being to catch the killer of the current case in the shortest time possible.

Using the Scan&Play technology, each component (locations, characters, items, etc.) has a unique QR code, which, depending on the scenario selected, will activate and trigger different clues and stories. That means players will be able to get new stories way after the game is released simply by downloading the app's updates, without any shipping of new physical components involved.

The VR experience only requires a mobile phone. Players simply put the VR glasses (optional buy) onto their mobile device, and put the VR glasses on their nose, holding their mobile device in front of their eyes, to immerse themselves in the game's universe and search for clues in a virtual world.

The game comes with 1 tutorial and 5 scenarios, but more can be downloaded directly inside the app!
Each session last around 1h to 1h30 minutes and many scenarios are connected to each others in order to tell a much bigger story.

The description fails to mention each additional scenario is another $5. So you really can only play it 5 times.

This game is fun, but you need to play with serious boardgame lovers. It takes thought and focus. People who like to play silly board games might get frustrated with the back-and-forth and details that are involved in this type of game. But it was really really fun and I loved the challenge!

    Interactive, Unique Crime Solving Game

I’m always looking for a game that is different, unique, than the rest of the games out there. And this one hit that mark. My favorite part is that you get to use your mobile device, making this game even more interactive. You get to interview possible suspects, search crime scenes, analyze clues, and ultimately solve the crime. We had fun at our game night playing this. And I anticipate we will be back again to solve more crimes.

This is a great game for adults who live true crime! It utilizes QR codes to investigate suspects and utilize expert witnesses insight. It was fun but not for the light of hart. Game play was at least 1 hour and not easy. It does depend on one phone so it’s hard to keep fully engaged.

Chronicles of Crime is the perfect game for anyone who likes to solve mysteries. it is an interactive game and requires one person to download a free app in order to play. This enables everyone to view the crime scene, question witnesses and suspects and find clues and evidence. This game was a huge hit with our family and friends!

This is a challenging game with a unique concept in that you use the game you purchase along with your phone to progress through the game. It does take awhile to learn how to play and definitely can be difficult to hold everyone’s attention and get the hang of it. Can be played by 1-4 people and I look forward to trying it again!

Such a creative game! I can't believe how it's such a fluid story and so interactive. We made a mistake to ask certain questions and the witnesses were getting irritated and stopped talking to us. It felt like as if we were real detectives. Everyone loved the game and we are going to make it a regular game night game!

Fun game where your party works together to solve the crime! Takes a minute, and you have to get a hang of scanning things to progress, but uniquely allows the game to virtually unfold.

Picked this game up to play with my older kids but even with the VR option they weren't too excited to play. My younger kids both wanted to but the box says just dive in and it is NOT a game where you can just start playing. We did finally figure it out after doing the tutorial and then about halfway through our first game we got the hang of it. It is a game that takes quite a bit of time I would say for the first game at least an hour just figuring out how to play. The cool thing is there are expansion packs which sounds fun. I think I would like to find a few more people who want to solve crimes with me and then maybe I would have enjoyed playing it more. The VR option to explore crime scenes was a fun feature.

this game was fun but you should watch a video or read up on it before playing even though the box says just dive right in. It could be a one person game just as easily as 4. it says if more than 4 work on teams but that didn't work well. just stick to 4 or less. it probably took us longer than the suggested time because we were a little slow figuring out where to find clues.

As a family who loves mystery games, this one has topped all the other board games out there. First, it’s a mix of virtual and board game which will allow for updates to be sent with new mysteries. Second, this is not like those others with a one game play. This can be played over and over again. The game play is simple but requires a little thinking to beat the game. The virtual aspect is really cool. You physically look for the evidence via an app that needs to be loaded. Depending on the QR codes selected, the game can change. Even our weekly game night group can play over and over and still get a different ending. We had a BLAST! If you love mysteries - go get this game.
